When there's work to be done in
harsh environments where normal laptops are just not tough
enough, send in the Algiz 13. This rugged but lightweight laptop
provides the tough exterior an outdoor setting demands, along
with the high-performance capability today's work requires.
The Algiz 13 is built with a strong magnesium casing for extra
protection, and it meets IP54 and MIL-STD-810F military
standards for accidental drops, dust and water. It also operates
in temperatures ranging from -20 to 50 °C. On the inside, it
features a powerful 1.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Merom ULV
processor and up to 4 GB of DDR II 667 industrial-grade RAM. The
Algiz 13 includes a shock-mounted 120 GB (up to 160 GB) 2.5-inch
hard drive with G-Sensor Protection and a 32 GB solid state is
available as an option. The Algiz 13 runs either Windows XP
Tablet PC edition or/ Windows Vista Business operating system.
Users can choose from a host of communication options when
they're out in the field, given the Algiz 13's multiple
integrated wireless capabilities. It offers up to four
simultaneous radios modems, WLAN 802.11 a/b/g, Bluetooth and
optional WAN/GPRS, and a fully integrated GPS receiver -
providing highly reliable connectivity across the range of
wireless networks. Designed for expansive radio frequency
coverage, it features internal antennas, and the magnesium case
provides RF shielding and extensive RF noise filtering.

The Algiz 13 has a full keyboard that is dust- and water-protected. The
13.3" XGA (1280x800) TFT display is readable even in sunlight and
has a flexible convertible function. It comes with built-in resistive touch
screen capability and an onscreen QWERTY soft keypad. The provided nine-cell
(7800 mAh) Li-ion battery runs up to six hours.
The Algiz 13 offers multiple security features to protect user
information and networks, including built-in TPM 1.2 Network
Security Standard and fingerprint recognition, BIOS setup,
Power-on, HDD, User Password Protection and Kensington Lock.
The Algiz 13 notebook is perfectly suited for a variety of
vertical market applications, including law enforcement,
military, homeland security, logistics, field service and
warehousing.
